Krasnodar, 20 August – Yug Times. Last Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Anapa, where he inspected the sites of the Volley-Grad Sports Complex, the training base of several national volleyball teams. During his visit, Mr. Putin was accompanied by Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev, Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev, and Anapa Mayor Yuri Poliakov.
Mr. Patrushev, who is a great volleyball enthusiast and the chairman of the supervisory board of the All-Russia Volleyball Federation, described the Volley-Grad’s activities to President who watched the game and then had a talk with young athletes and their coaches.
The Volley-Grad Sports Complex was built in 2007 in the village of Vityazevo near Anapa upon initiative of the All-Russia Volleyball Federation. Its total area is 32,500 sq m. The complex includes a universal arena, a roofed multifunctional sports hall with sand flooring that is heated in winter.
