Krasnodar, 30 July – Yug Times. A road accident prevention program involving underage participants starts in Krasnodar region. It includes special training courses for the parents where they will be taught how to transport their children in cars and how to cross the road with a pram.
At a press conference dedicated to the launch of the program, First Deputy Governor Andrei Alekseyenko noted that Krasnodar province is distinguished by very intensive road traffic which is why risks of road accidents grows considerably.
According to Chief Road Inspector Aleksandr Kapustin, the situation with children’s safety on the roads remains hard. In the first half of this year, 406 accidents with children were registered, in half of which minors were passengers, and in many cases the drivers had violated the transportation rules.
“Road traffic officers have put a stop to over 18,000 violations of the transportation rules for children,” he stated. “Such projects as “Childhood Without Danger” let the parents realise their responsibility.”
