Krasnodar, 19 July – Yug Times. The volume of cashless operations in the Southern and North Caucasus Federal Districts have reportedly grown nearly by 33%.
During the first three months of this year, 336.2 billion roubles were paid with bank cards in these two Russian regions. The total volume of such transactions grew by 29%, compared to the same period of 2018, and their number grew by 37% and reached 374.6 million transactions.
The share of cashless payments in the total number of bank card operations reached nearly 77% (a 6% growth), mostly in Volgograd (83%), Krasnodar (82%), Rostov (80%) and Astrakhan (78%) provinces.
In Krasnodar province, goods and services were paid with bank cards 134 million times in January – March. The total sum of cashless transactions amounted to 130 billion roubles. Their number grew by 40% compared to the same period of 2018, and the volume grew by 30%.
One of the main reasons affecting the growth of the share of cashless payments is expansion of the number of card machines in shops and other points of sale.
