Krasnodar, 13 June – Yug Times.The reconstruction program provides for a construction of two lanes in each direction at Stavropolskaya street along the tramways. The transformation of the roundabout is one of the stages of a program of complex changes meant to improve the traffic situation in this part of the city. The lanes will be laid along the ‘green island’ behind the entrance into the underground passage. The construction of these two road sectors along the tramways will be performed without closing the tram and automobile traffic. Experts have calculated that the new traffic scheme will improve the traffic capacity of the roundabout by 40%.
At the same time, another roundabout – at the intersection of Sormovskaya and Liza Chaikina streets – is being under reconstruction. This roundabout will be transformed into a T-shaped intersection.
