Krasnodar, 17 May – Yug Times. On June 1, the road works will reportedly begin to reconstruct one of Krasnodar’s traffic bottlenecks – the Starokubansky roundabout.
The repairs of Starokubanskaya street have already started. The work is being done in the context of the national project, Safe and High-Quality Motor Roads. Across the existing street island, two lanes in each direction will be laid to have a direct passage along Stavropolskaya street. The traffic capacity is to increase by 40%.
During a regular itinerancy of the city’s roads, Krasnodar Mayor Yevgeni Pervyshov discussed the duration and stages of the repair works.
Viktor Statsenko, engineer of the outsourcing firm, stressed that asphalt cutting and laying will be performed only at night.
According to deputy Mayor Artem Doronin, the preparatory works began on May 13. By June 1, the contractor will be able to begin the work on changing the configuration of the roundabout.
