Krasnodar, 20 March – Yug Times. On March 15, the regional Civic Chamber, public organisation “Centre of Applied Social and Political Science”, and Chamber of Trade and Industry held a conference entitled “Place and role of corporate social responsibility of the business sector in improvement of people’s life quality.”
In her welcoming word, Chair of the regional Civic Chamber Lubov Popova explained the importance of the gathering.
“In our difficult - from economic viewpoint - time, we need to join efforts of the authorities, society and business sector to improve life quality of Russian people,” she noted.
The business part of the agenda was opened by Alisa Andreyeva, Manager Corporate Affairs South at Philip Morris International.
“Presently many global companies annually release so-called social reports, where they inform the society about what they are doing for social development,” she said. “We have been operating in the region for 25 years. Over this time, we have organised lots of various social projects.”
Korina Sukharev-... from the Russian-Swiss business club recounted the Swiss understanding of practices of business’ social responsibility. In Switzerland, the forecasting time-frame for the business sector and its social programs is several decades. Such long-term vision allows to put really serious tasks - and to fulfil them. The Swiss guest advised her Russian colleagues to move aside the forecasting time-frame - as they say, the big is seen from a distance.
In her speech, Vice President of the Krasnodar regional charity public organisation “Healthy Generation” Natalia Streltsova explained the contents of their project “Return” aimed at socialisation of released convicts.
“We held a course on entrepreneurship at a female penal colony,” she said. “One of our students now has her own business - she makes souvenirs and wedding accessories. Another one is a successful designer, working in Sochi.”
