Krasnodar, 15 March – Yug Times. Power industry is expecting big changes - soon citizens will be able to produce kilowatts and sell them.
Nikolai Driga’s business began as personal interest to alternative power engineering. As a result, seven years ago he built a fully autonomous house. There are two ways to build a power-efficient house: either to construct it from a scratch which is cheaper, or to reconstruct an old building. In any case, it is a hybrid solar power station that is the heart of such house. The owners of such power stations will be able to sell the excess of the generated power to public networks that will have to buy it. During a warm season, the electric networks will be accumulating some positive balance that may be used during a cold season.
The idea of microgeneration is becoming more and more popular. It has attracted interest of the federal government. The draft bill has been considered by the State Duma.
Nikolai Driga says that he delivered a report on the issue at a session of the Expert Council of the Duma’s Power Committee: “I was going to Moscow prepared to fight in favour of this idea, but I didn’t have to - the deputies did understand the benefits of microgeneration.”
A week ago, Nikolai sent his latest amendments to the bill. He is confident that the law will be finally adopted this spring.
