Krasnodar, 15 January – Yug Times. Regional Minister of Resorts, Tourism and Olympic Heritage Khristofor Konstantinidi has reportedly been appointed Deputy Head of the Central Directorate of the Department of Presidential Affairs, in charge of the development of recreational complexes and hotels in Moscow and Russian regions.
Mr. Konstantinidi has been working as regional Minister since October 12, 2016. Over this time, the regional tourist industry has considerably grown: the inbound tourism flow grew by over a million people. In 2018, the Kuban region received 17 million holidaymakers, which was by 6% more than in 2017.
The marketing programs launched under Mr. Konstantinidi’s management – The Southern Health Resort, and Recreation with a View of Mountains – enabled to improve the average room occupancy in low season. Another initiative of Mr. Konstantinidi was agritourism that has proved to be one of the best practices nationwide. The hotels have begun to work according to ‘all-inclusive’ standards: the number of such hotels rose by 40% in 2018.
