Krasnodar, 27 November – Yug Times. Presently, the Krasnodar regional economy is impossible without international companies. Their joint activities have resulted in the opening of thousands of new jobs in the region, development of business activity and growing interest of foreign investors.
Oleg Zharko, chair of the Southern Regional Committee of the European Business Association (SRC EBA), Danone Russia corporate director, recounts the results of 15 years of the Committee’s work.
“The SRC EBA was founded in autumn 2003. Over these 15 years, we have undergone a large path of development. Now we join 42 companies. It is no doubt that the activity of the Committee may be assessed a success. It works as a leading representative, a voice of the international business community in our region.
“We focus our first of all to the interests of the companies-members of the Association. Of course, we still have a lot of questions to solve - and this is normal, because a lack of problems would mean arrest of development.
“The fact that SRC EBA is a recognised and leading representative of interests of the international business community in the Kuban region is connected with our system of cooperation with our governmental partners. We have built up constructive and mutually beneficial relations with the regional and municipal authorities.
“The Consultative council on foreign investments reporting to the regional governor is a key platform for such cooperation.
“In my opinion, our experience of cooperation with the regional administration in the framework of the Consultative council, and first of all with its investment and economic divisions, is efficient and even - to a certain extent - exemplary.
“Presently the economy of the Krasnodar region is one of the leading regional economies in Russia, which fact has been proved by numerous studies and ratings. Correspondingly, the presence of the international capital [in the region] has become bigger. Currently, the international investors are a standard and an indispensible part of the Kuban economy.
“On the whole, the Krasnodar regional economy is becoming better integrated in the international business and more understandable to it.
“The Krasnodar region has a positive investment image that affects the awareness of the target audience about the advantages of the location of their businesses in the region.
“Danone is a large international investor that works in Russia. Two of the 16 Danone factories are located in the Krasnodar region. It also accommodates the [corporate] Business Service Centre. This is why, we consider it very important that the EBA Southern Regional Committee, that represents, among others, Danone’s interests in the Krasnodar region, operates in this key region.”
