Krasnodar, 18 October – Yug Times. In 2018, China and the Krasnodar region have significantly increased their business cooperation. Over the past three years, Kuban has been working hard to improve the local investment climate: every concrete project undergoes careful study and is closely supported, and the legal and normative base is being perfected.
China, as the world’s leader on the speed of economic development and a key player in the global investment market, cannot help noticing such a state of affairs. In May, Krasnodar was receiving China’s official delegation, headed by Li Baochun, Executive Officer of the State Bodies of the People’s Republic of China. Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev showed Sochi’s seaside and alpine clusters and resort infrastructure to the visitors. During the meeting with the delegation, Mr. Kondratiev noted long-term cooperation between the Krasnodar region and China. For instance, Kuban exports fish, cereals, flour, sunflower oil, alcohol and soft drinks to China.
It is the agricultural complex that has to become one of the key directions of cooperation. The recent visit of the delegation of COFCO International proved this fact. CEO Chi Jintao expressed interest in cooperation with our region. The amount of cereals imported by COFCO International reached 1 million tons, but in future the company plans to increase this figure to 2 or 3 million tons. “The [Krasnodar] region has created preferential terms for international investors,” Mr. Chi stated. “Based on our manufacturing facilities in China’s market, we will develop our turnover with the [Krasnodar] region. I hope that our cooperation will enter a new stage.”
Besides, China’s business circles show interest to projects in road and transport infrastructure and logistics, while the Krasnodar region is interested to attract tourists from China to Kuban resorts.
