Krasnodar, 16 October – Yug Times. On October 22–26, the regional Development Fund, under the auspices of the State Duma and the Krasnodar branch of Business Russia, will hold a presentation of the Kuban region in Beijing. The Yug Times has asked Sergei Skorodumov, Head of Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Representative Office in Krasnodar, to recount the main directions of bilateral Chinese – Kuban cooperation.
“Despite the absence of a formal cooperation agreement between the Krasnodar region and the People’s Republic of China, our relations with China have a long history, concrete results and far-reaching prospects.
“Inter-municipal partnership may be considered as one of the most important directions of cooperation. The Kuban capital is known to be a sister-city to Harbin.
“Every year, representatives of the business circles of the People’s Republic of China make working visits to Kuban.
“The cultural and humanitarian sphere also plays a peculiar role in the cooperation between the Krasnodar region and China. Our major higher schools actively work with Chinese universities.”
