Krasnodar, 9 October – Yug Times. On October 5, Sochi for the first time hosted the “Black Sea Adventure” motor rally.
Sochi is known to offer diverse entertainments, but a tourist may see all its main sights in a day due to the welldeveloped infrastructure. The regional Ministry for Resorts, Tourism and Olympic Heritage showed an example of such weekend tour and organised the rally together with the Russian Tourism Agency and the Russian Geographic Society.
“I have been to Sochi and Krasnaya Polyana many times, but now the city opened up before me in a new way,” chair of the Krasnodar branch of the Russian Geographic Society Ivan Chaika says. “The resorts of the Krasnodar region are unique places that let us understand our country and enjoy it.” The tour was arranged for travel-bloggers, professional travellers, regional and local press, and regional power executives. The list of the racers also included such celebrities as the cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov, artist Aleksei Goman, and Greek journalist Thanassis Avgerinos.
They rode 85 km by five lux-class off-roaders from Gorki Gorod, an alpine ski resort, down to the Olympic Park in the Imereti lowlands. The participants of the rally said that the route was a sheer joy, and they will be looking forward to taking part in it in the future.
