Krasnodar, 20 September – Yug Times. A new source of African swine fever has reportedly been revealed in the Timashevsk district.
The Krasnodar regional administration has ordered introduction of quarantine in the place where perished pigs were found. Genetic material of the swine fever virus was found in the samples taken at a farm in Rogovskaya village, Timashevsk district.
The quarantine was introduced on September 14. The territory of the farm will be disinfected. Besides, the authorities ordered that the regional Ministry of Natural Resources and the local society of hunters and fishers should regulate the number of wild boars in the area. The region also intensifies the activity of the mobile teams engaged in the control of transportation of animals and animal products.
