Krasnodar, 16 May – Yug Times. The two largest cities of the South of Russia are is approaching the championship in different states. One has perceptibly improved its infrastructure, the other on the contrary, has nothing to boast.
Аccording to updated official information, the total cost of organizing and hosting the World Cup is now 643,55 billion rubles. The share of the federal budget amounts to 355,16 billion, the budget to regions is 92,2 billion. Another 192,6 billion is business investment.
Rostov on Don accured 100 billion. The money was used to build, reconstruct and repair infrastructural facilities. Some of them, the such as the airport “Platov”, turned out well indeed. The main investor was the Viktor Vekselberg’s corporation «Renova». Another 18 billion was given by the Public Treasury and about a billion by the region.
“Rostov arena” has become the second most important organization platform. Unlike the well-known scandalous story in Saint Petersburg, this stadium was the only one which fitted in the budget limits. An interesting fact: originally the investment was supposed to be 20 billion, Rostov on Don managed to meet 19 billion rubles.
For this project the city has received about 57 billion. The bulk of remaining funds went to the reconstruction of the bridge across the Don river, building of the traffic interchange M-4 called “Don” and new roads to Levberdon. Unfortunately, due to a lack of money much of the planned work is not done.
