Krasnodar, 6 December – Yug Times. According to the results of the National Geographic Traveler Awards 2017 online voting, Krasnodar region became the prizewinner in two nominations — Russian Recreational Holidaymaking, and Russian Alpine Skiing.
It was the seventh annual survey of the world’s best tourist destinations organized by the National Geographic Traveler, but it was the first time that Russia’s best tourist routes got special nominations of their own.
The winners were determined by a team of Russian and international travelers. In the segment of recreational holidaymaking, Krasnodar region outpaced Altai and Stavropol; and in alpine skiing, Krasnaya Poliana left behind Sheregesh and Elbrus.
