During the all-Russia forum ‘Business Territory as Life Territory’ held in Moscow last week, the supreme federal power once again formulated the main task in its relationship with small and midsize business. The forum also announced the names of the winners of the National Prize ‘Business Success’.

The event began by a session of the Patrons’ Board of the National Prize held in the Government House. Its participants discussed the issue of popularization of small and midsize businesses. First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov stressed that support of small and middle-size entrepreneurs is a matter of national importance.

Over six years of existence of the National Prize ‘Business Success’, 53 national, regional and local forums have been organized in support of the project. Around 47,000 entrepreneurs have reportedly taken place in the activities. “This is a touchstone enabling us to see how the business circles are feeling in the regions throughout Russia,” stated Aleksandr Brechalov, secretary of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation.

Deputy Prime Minister Shuvalov also highly praised the project, noting that small business plays an important role in the national economy and promotion of public wellbeing.

“No matter how much we would be distributing the federal resources, the best thing is to stay out of the way - that means to support you and your initiatives,” stated Mr. Shuvalov. “It’s important to let you a possibility to work, create new jobs, and educate people. It is the entrepreneurs in the first place who are able to develop this country and make it comfortable.”
