ЮГ Times. The ceremony of completion of a large charity project was held last week at the Krasnodar Welfare and Labour Complex, a nursing centre for people with challenged abilities.

The project held under the aegis of the regional branch of the All-Russia Association of the Blind (VOS) was entitled “Support of adult disabled people: improvement of labour conditions for visually-impaired employees.” In its framework, VOS purchased new equipment and organized repair work in workrooms and amenity rooms for the money donated by Philip Morris.

Now the welfare and labour complex has received an opportunity to launch a new type of product and increase the number of jobs for physically challenged persons, improve their work productivity and working conditions. Currently, the Krasnodar Welfare and Labour Complex employs more than 100 persons.

In his speech during the ceremony, Philip Morris Kuban Director General Vladislav Kalashnikov said that his company has been engaged in social projects in south Russia since 2003. “We are trying to contribute to the solution of topical problems in the regions where our employees live and work,” said Mr. Kalashnikov. “[Our Company] helps senior citizens and physically challenged persons, and supports the development of higher and vocational education. We are trying to do all we can to support those who most of all need help, and to contribute to the solution of socially challenging problems.”
