Yevgeni Ilyin, newly-elected head of the Tbilissky rayon, speaks of the workdays of the municipality, its strategic development and the surprises of the forthcoming V-Day.
Q.: Lately, much attention has been paid to import substitution, first of all in the food sector. What is the Tbilissky rayon’s share contributed to it?
A.: Today this issue is quite a hot one - and our agricultural rayon takes an active part in import substitution activities. Say, at the last meeting with our farmers we took a decision that the local schools should be catered only with locally-made products.
Our major farms willingly participate in the biddings to be qualified to supply high-quality natural products to kindergartens and schools - and what’s more important is that it’s the kids’ parents who are growing these products.
Q.: By the way, can we expect any personnel changes due to your appointment? Are you going to change your team?
A.: I’m not a supporter of personnel revolutions or shocks.
