A new horse-racing season was opened at the Krasnodar hippodrome last Saturday.
The days’ program consisted of 8 races for the distances from 1,600 to 2,000 m.
The prize fund amounted to 400,000 rubles.
One of the toughest events reportedly was the 1,800 m race for the Arab clean-breds.
Although it was the mare Zegniatta who had been leading for nearly whole race, ultimately she was challenged by grey studs Vampirus and Gubernator, and Bug, a red stud.
It was Bug who came to the finish first, winning just 0.4 seconds from Vampirus, 0.8 seconds from Zegniatta and 1.5 seconds from Gubernator.
