The Orthodox activists have managed to cancel the concert of the Western rock groups Belphegor and Nile scheduled on April 23 in Krasnodar in the framework of The Flaming Arts Festival.

The organizers of the concert have confirmed its cancellation.

Earlier the activists had reportedly addressed head of the Russian Investigation Committee Aleksandr Bastrykin and Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika asking them to bring the organizers to criminal proceedings for "the signs of the corpus delicti foreseen by the Criminal Code's article "Public outrage of the religious feelings of Christians and Moslems."

The musicians had visited a number of Russian cities. According to the activists, officials of the Prosecutor's Office had warned the organizers of the tour about responsibility for extremism. As a result, the Austrian rock group Belphegor did not appear on the stage during the concert in St. Petersburg and played the "instrumental set" only - i.e. musical pieces with no words - at the concert in Moscow.

Reportedly, Belphegor is not going to take part in the concert in Yekaterinburg scheduled on April 21.
