Krasnodar, 17 July – Yug Times. One of Novorossiysk’s key environmental projects is back on track, as work resumes on the reconstruction of the Southern Ponds.
According to Mayor Andrei Kravchenko, the project is progressing in line with the approved road map. All activities had been paused between April and the end of June to protect the fish spawning season. Work has now shifted to removing silt and soil from the area to continue cleaning the water body. Due to the high moisture content, the soil cannot be disposed of immediately and must first be transported to a temporary storage facility.
Simultaneously, the project contractor is preparing amendments to the current documentation, after which a transportation plan for the site will be submitted. Only then will the contractor begin removing the material.
