Krasnodar, 15 July – Yug Times. Last week, the city of Goriachy Kluch faced a serious threat to its water supply after a critical failure at the Central Water Intake facility.
The incident occurred on 9 July, when a rupture on the main water pipeline forced a shutdown. The sudden depletion of water serves as the system refilled led to a near-total exhaustion of supplies. The uplands of the city were most affected, as water no longer reached the area.
The disruption was triggered by works to connect a new school to the city’s water network.
“It was impossible to delay the connection of the new school – this is a vital project for the city, and the link had to be made now,” city officials explained. “Unfortunately, given the age of the system, things did not go according to plan.”
Due to the severity of the situation, an emergency decision was made to replace a worn section of the main pipeline on Lenin Street, approximately 50 metres in length. To carry out the work as quickly as possible, all available resources from the water utility and the school’s construction contractor were mobilised simultaneously.
