Krasnodar, 17 June – Yug Times. 500,000 Vehicles a Month Nearly six million vehicles have used the Far Western Bypass of Krasnodar in two years.

The highest monthly traffic was recorded in July 2024, with nearly 500,000 vehicle trips. In May 2025, 248,600 vehicles used the road. This summer, traffic on the bypass is expected to exceed 500,000 trips per month.

The bypass officially opened on June 15, 2023. It stretches 51 kilometres, skirting Krasnodar from the north and west. The route has no traffic lights, surface pedestrian crossings, or at-grade intersections. As an extension of the M-4 "Don" highway, the bypass diverts transit traffic away from the streets of the million-strong city, allowing uninterrupted travel directly to the A-289 highway toward the Crimean Bridge.

"Creating comfortable and safe travel conditions for people is a key objective of Russia’s construction sector," said Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.

"Bypasses not only help decongest urban centres but also make freight delivery faster and more convenient for road travellers. In the past two years, approximately 20 million vehicle trips have been recorded on the new high speed sections of the M-4 'Don'."
