Krasnodar, 6 June – Yug Times. In Krasnodar Krai, just a little more than 201,000 credit cards were issued from January to April, which was 47% less than in the same period of 2024, when 379,500 credit cards were issued.
At the same time, the most significant decline in the number of newly issued credit cards (among the top 10 regions in terms of issuance) in April 2025 compared to the same period last year was recorded in the Samara region (-54.8%), Moscow city (-53.5%), and Moscow (-53.3%), Sverdlovsk (-52.6%), and Rostov (-51.7%) regions.
“After a decline in the second half of last year, the issuance of new credit cards has gradually stabilised in 2025,” said Aleksei Volkov, Marketing Director of the National Bureau of Credit Histories. “However, the number of new credit cards issued in January–April this year is significantly lower – twice as low – compared to the same period last year. The regulator continues to follow a tight monetary policy aimed at cooling down the credit market, including introducing restrictions related to the debt burden ratio.”
