Krasnodar, 3 June – Yug Times. Since the beginning of the year, 136 illegal non-permanent retail structures have been dismantled in municipalities across Krasnodar Krai, the region’s governor announced on social media.

“I believe that no makeshift stalls, kiosks or pavilions should block pavements, roads, or spoil the architectural appearance of our towns and villages — especially in our resort areas,” wrote Governor Veniamin Kondratiev. “The region welcomes 20 million visitors each year, and we invest heavily in improving parks and seafronts for their comfort. Randomly placed retail units undermine this work. As I said recently at a coordination meeting for the summer holiday season, both residents and tourists should be able to enjoy the beauty of our beaches and mountain scenery. We will continue this effort — in the near future, around 200 unauthorised structures will be removed from municipalities.”

In 2024, nearly 1,700 illegal pavilions were dismantled across towns and districts in the region, with the majority taken down in resort cities such as Anapa, Gelendzhik, and Sochi.

Altogether, municipalities have designated over 11,400 approved locations for non-permanent retail outlets.
