Krasnodar, 28 May – Yug Times. Sochi is set to make significant strides in education infrastructure development by the end of this year. Four new schools and annexes to existing educational institutions are scheduled to be commissioned in the city. These new facilities will be located in the following residential neighbourhoods: Severnaya Bytkha, Kalarash-Malyshev Streets, Liza Chaikina Street, and Golubye Dali.
Additionally, construction of a new kindergarten on Lenin Street in Adler is nearing completion. Initially, completion of a new building for School No. 18 in Kudepsta was also planned for this year. However, the timeline has now been extended to 2026. According to Sochi's mayor, the delay is due to a combination of factors including rising material costs, the search for domestic equipment alternatives, and most critically, an unreliable contractor. The city administration is currently replacing the contractor and initiating a new bidding process.
Two large kindergartens in Severnaya Bytkha and Kudepsta neighbourhoods are expected to open in the near future with celebratory ceremonies. Meanwhile, plans for new social infrastructure continue to progress.
