Krasnodar, 4 February – Yug Times. Domestically manufactured telecom base stations have reportedly been launched in the Krasnodar region. To date, approximately 200 new facilities have been launched in 37 regions across Russia. This is the country's first large-scale project to develop, manufacture and launch domestically manufactured LTE base stations in real conditions. “
The launch of domestically manufactured base stations is a landmark event for the entire telecommunications industry," said Stanislav Zavalny, Head of the Krasnodar regional Department of Informatisation and Communications.
“The successful implementation of this large-scale project demonstrates the competitiveness of our developments and the readiness of the domestic industry to create a modern and reliable telecommunications infrastructure.” The equipment was developed and manufactured by a Russian telecom vendor, 50% of which is owned by one of the Big Three mobile operators. It is planned that this year the company will launch another 1,000 domestically manufactured base stations across Russia.
“The launch of domestically produced base stations represents a significant advancement for the country's telecom industry and is an essential component of Russia's technological sovereignty,” commented Viktor Belov, a representative of the cellular operator.
