Krasnodar, 25 July – Yug Times. A number of unusual farming projects are reportedly realised in Adyghea.

For example, such unusual for Adyghea vegetables as cauliflower and broccoli are now planted in the region by a few farms. One of them is located in the village of Khashtuk, Takhtamukai district, where the wholesome product is grown on 70 hectares. The grown cauliflower and broccoli are sent to the local quick freezing factory and then sold along with other vegetables to retailers.

An entrepreneur in the Takhtamukai district found an unusual use for the grant allocated under the Agrostartup programme. He opened a marble catfish farm. The 2.7 million roubles received were spent on purchasing the necessary equipment - an autonomous heat source for the fry that runs on pellets (fuel granules made of pressed sawdust). The marble or African sharptooth catfish can breathe atmospheric oxygen and is known for its endurance. This makes sharptooth catfish a popular commercial and profitable fish.
