Krasnodar, 9 April – Yug Times. About 6,500 residents of the Krasnodar region will be called up for military service during this spring campaign.
Last week, Governor Veniamin Kondratiev discussed the progress of the spring draft with the regional military commissar Aleksei Chugunkin. In 2023, over 12,000 men were conscripted from Krasnodar Krai. It was the highest figure among all Russian regions. The military commissar said that the draft campaign will last until 15 July.
“Most of the recruits will be sent to land units deployed in the Southern Military District. We will also send recruits to the Air and Space Forces, Navy, Airborne, Railway and Strategic Missile Forces,” said Aleksei Chugunkin.
This is the first draft campaign, when draft cards will be sent to citizens aged 18 to 30.
“There are no changes in the resolution defining contraindications to military service on health grounds. There are also no plans to increase the length of mandatory military service, which will remain one year,” said Aleksei Chugunkin.
