Krasnodar, 27 February – Yug Times. The Maikop Traffic Police are reportedly carrying out an inquiry into the fact of a serious road accident in which a 19-year-old girl was killed.
On Sunday, 25 February, at about five o'clock in the evening, the police control room received information about a traffic accident with serious consequences that occurred at the intersection of Khakurate and Shovgenov Streets in Maikop.
When officers got to the scene, they preliminarily established that a 19-year-old local driver of a Zhiguli, when turning left at a signalised intersection on a permissive traffic lights signal, violated the right of way and clashed with a car moving in the opposite direction that was driven by a 40-year-old resident of Maikop.
After the collision, the both cars left the carriageway and crushed into a metal fence, traffic lights and road signs.
As a result, the passenger of the Zhiguli, a 19-year-old resident of the Maikop district, died from injuries sustained in the crash.
