Krasnodar, 7 December – Yug Times. In the first half of 2023, expenditures for sports and cultural events, recreation and hobbies reached 1,400 roubles per month in the Krasnodar region, which was 22.8% more compared to the same period last year, stated FinExpertiza analytical service based on data obtained from the national statistics office. Spending for alcohol and tobacco also increased up to 1,500 roubles per month (+11.8%). The rise took place against the decrease (from 3.1% to 2.9%) on the national level. In addition, Kuban residents reduced spending for cafés and restaurants by 23.1%, to 1,500 roubles per month.

Total consumer expenditures of Kuban families increased by 18% to 67,200 roubles per month. By this indicator, the Krasnodar region ranks third in the Southern Federal District, following the Rostov region (RUB 77,700) and Sevastopol (RUB 72,100). 

“In the first half of the year, consumer spending grew nominally by 7.2% year-on-year, and by 1.5% in real roubles. The share of entertainment expenses among all expenditures rose to 3.3%, falling slightly short of the post-COVID indicator of 3.5%," says Yelena Trubnikova, FinExpertiza President.
