Krasnodar, 24 November – Yug Times. A criminal case was reportedly filed in Krasnodar after a scooter rider ran over a child.
The case was initiated by the Investigation Department for Prikubansky District suggesting possible offence provided by part 1 of article 238 of the Russian Criminal Code (provision of services of inadequate quality that fail to meet the consumers' health safety requirements). "According to the preliminary data, on 18 November 2023, at the intersection of Moskovskaya and Zipovskaya Streets in Krasnodar, an electric scooter collided with a pram in which a little baby was sitting. The mother called the emergency services to the scene.
According to recent reports, the scooter was ridden by two minors,” the Investigative Committee’s press service announced. “The little boy, born in 2022, was taken to hospital, where he was diagnosed with soft tissue bruising. Nothing threatens the child’s life and health.”
The investigators will study the CCTV footage, interrogate the eyewitnesses of the accident, and establish the identity of the girls riding the scooter. They will also need to reveal the scooter itself.
Earlier this year, riding electric scooters was banned on the central streets in Sochi.
