Krasnodar, 20 September – Yug Times. Sochi will set up a working group to develop the water and green structure of the resort city.
The issue was discussed at a meeting of the Ecological Council held in Sochi last week.
“Sochi is Russia’s most sought-after resort with a unique nature,” said Svetlana Kalinina, First Deputy Mayor of Sochi. “Special attention is paid to the protection of the green belt, preservation and multiplication of natural wealth. The resort’s environmental policy requires a strategic and scientific approach. For its effective implementation, it is important to resolve all topical issues in close cooperation with experts and public organisations that deal with environmental issues.”
It is planned that the working group will include executives of the relevant departments of the city administration, experts, representatives of businesses, construction industry, science, higher and secondary educational institutions, public organisations and local residents. According to the experts, such interaction will allow to solve the tasks of preserving and enhancing Sochi’s green spaces and improving the comfort of the urban environment as efficiently as possible.
