Krasnodar, 13 September – Yug Times. The third stage of construction of sewage treatment facilities is to be completed by the end of this year in Gelendzhik. These works are required to safeguard the ecology of the resort city’s famous bay. The project has been implemented since 2020, when the works began with the construction of a 1.5 km long deep-water outlet in the Tonky Cape. This year the active phase of construction and installation works began.

The works are being carried out in four stages. At the first stage, the general contractor, Modern Renovation Systems LLC, is building new sewage treatment facilities in the Tonky Cape. In the framework of the second and the third stages, new main sewers and pumping stations will be laid. At the fourth stage, the existing treatment facilities will be reconstructed and a new deep-water outlet in the Tolsty Cape will be erected. “By the end of this year, we plan to complete the works on all third stage main networks. This will allow to improve the work of the entire sewerage system, eliminate the risk of breakage of dilapidated networks in the southern part of the city in the Tolsty Cape, and normalize water disposal in the city sewerage system,” said Vice-Governor Andrei Proshunin.
