Krasnodar, 31 August – Yug Times. E-scooter hire services will be limited within Sochi's historical boundaries.
The resort city continues to struggle with personal mobility devices. In accordance with the regional order, the boundaries of the historical settlement of Sochi encompass the Central and Adler City Districts. At the recent meeting of the city Road Safety Commission, 23 zones were defined where the movement of personal mobility means will be restricted and their hire will be prohibited. At present, respective road signs are being installed in these areas. In four zones – on Primorskaya Embankment, in the Kooperativny and Komsomolsky Public Gardens, and on Navaginskaya Street – 22 signs have already been installed.
“It is necessary to bring the local regulatory acts into compliance with the regional order as soon as possible, which will allow to completely clear the borders of the historical settlement from rental of personal mobility devices and ensure safe traffic of Sochi residents and guests in the parks, public gardens, on embankments and in other favourite recreational areas,” said Sochi Mayor Aleksei Kopaigorodsky.
