Krasnodar, 29 August – Yug Times. The regional authorities have promised to raise the teachers’ salaries from 1 October.
The increase will amount to 5,000 roubles a month and it will affect all teachers working in the Krasnodar region. The news was announced at the regional teachers’ council traditionally held on the eve of the new school year.“Initially, when discussing the issue with our colleagues, we planned to raise the salaries by 5 per cent, but ultimately we decided to level the increase regardless of the teacher’s status,” said Governor Veniamin Kondratiev.
The agenda of the regional teachers’ council also included other measures applied in the region to support the education workers, like payment of one million roubles as down-payment on a mortgage loan, introduced in 2022.
Speaking at the council, Vice Governor Anna Minkova said that a lumpsum of 5,000 roubles will be paid to all teachers by 1 September as an additional support measure (it was first introduced last year). Starting from 2023, the region has introduced annual regional awards for winners and prize-winners of national competitions, equal to 350,000 roubles
