Krasnodar, 30 May. Several municipalities have reportedly suffered from the bad weather last weekend. According to the Regional Crisis Centre, the heaviest precipitation was recorded in Yeisk, Kushchevsky, Labinsk and Tikhoretsk Rayons. In Yeisk, the gusts of wind reached 22 m/sec; in Pavlovsky Rayon - 18 m/sec, in Kushchevsky Rayon - 15 m/sec. In the rivers Kuksa and Nevolka (Labinsk Rayon), Big Chokhrak (Mostovskoi Rayon) and Chamlyk (Kurganinsk Rayon), the water levels reached dangerous and adverse points.
As a result of the bad weather, floods occurred in four municipalities: Labinsk, Kushchevsky, Novokubansk, and Kurganinsk.
The most difficult situation had arisen in Labinsk Rayon.
“Taking into account that the main consequences of the element fell on the town [of Labinsk], I am personally inspecting the submerged areas of Labinsk. At the motor road to Armavir, Road Patrol Service keep watch; traffic has not been snarled,” reported Vladimir Zaburaev, Head of Labinsk Rayon.
Later, the emergency mode was announced in Kurganinsk Rayon, where within two hours a monthly precipitation - over 100 mm - fell. There was water in fields and households.
In Novokubansk Rayon, several settlements became exposed to flooding, including the municipal centre, Novokubansk town.
