Krasnodar, 14 April – Yug Times. A sports facilities repair programme will be developed in the Kuban region according to a decision taken recently at a meeting devoted to development of sports infrastructure. “Alongside the construction of new facilities, we must not forget about the existing ones. Some of them were erected many years ago, and since then they have become unfit for use. We should envisage additional money for the sports facilities repair programme,” said Governor Veniamin Kondratiev.
Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of Krasnodar Krai Serafim Timchenko reported that repair works of different types must be performed at stadiums located in many cities and municipalities, children’s sports schools, inflatable facilities and sports grounds.
“Bearing in mind a significant level of wear and tear of facilities, we continue to admit applications for subsidies for capital repairs of municipal stadiums and sports facilities. To date, we have accepted documents for 26 facilities of the total cost exceeding one billion roubles,” Serafim Timchenko said.
Veniamin Kondratiev ordered that Ministry of Sports jointly with the regional financial authorities see how to ensure funding of repair works at sports facilities.
