Krasnodar, 12 April – Yug Times. Last week, Rosa Khutor hosted the BoogelWoogel festival. The first item of the agenda of the festival was the ‘Absolutely Summer Down-Run’: 245 bold riders went downhill in the pouring rain clad in summer garments: sarafans, shorts, crop-tops, beach wraps and swimming suits with summer accessories, wearing snorkel masks and swimming rings. For the ‘Coloured Smoke’ down-run, the participants skied downhill with burning smoke flares: the column with orange smoke was followed by those with turquois, blue, pink and dark-blue flares.
Altogether, 1,313 riders and 1,766 spectators had registered for the festival.
“No doubt that such a bright event as BoogelWoogel crowning the alpine skiing season attracts visitors to the resort, and it was brilliant that its participants found an opportunity to prove out creatively. Of course, we all need emotional release, and it is very good that there exists such a festival that can implement this need. It was superb that the festival summoned musicians, but we can also think about writers and artists,” said Dmitri Kolosov, Rosa Khutor Sustainable Development Director.
