Krasnodar, 15 March. A large-scale construction of new treatment facilities has reportedly begun in Gelendzhik.
The works are being performed as part of a concession agreement.
At present, all wastewaters in Gelendzhik go to the treatment facilities at Cape Tolsty which are running at full blast. The new facility will make it possible to divert part of the wastewaters from the city’s western part to Cape Tonky. The new facilities are being built by the local water supply concession company. Now the workers are digging the ditch and removing soil from the site of the administrative building, final settling tanks and aeration tanks. The construction project began in 2020, and it is planned to be completed in 2024. The new facilities will treat the sewage waters coming from the residential neighbourhoods and industrial enterprises. Their capacity will reach 50,000 cubic metres of wastewaters a day. The construction project is financed from a number of sources. In January 2023, the Kuban region received about 3.3 billion roubles from the federal budget to continue the works, in addition to the 924 million roubles allocated from the regional budget.
