- In 2019, the All-Russian Cossack Society was established. Why was a new Cossack organization created?
- This was necessary, since all existing military Cossack societies were at different stages of their development. In total, three such stages can be distinguished - revival, formation and development.To date, the Cossack societies in the South of Russia - Terek, Kuban and Don - are at the stage of development. A number of other military Cossack societies are now in the process of formation. The most difficult situation is observed in the Irkutsk and Ussuri Cossack troops - there is still a revival going on.
- What other tasks are facing the All-Russian Cossack Society?
- To date, we have been tasked with the formation of a human mobilization reserve of the country. Now many Cossacks are already in the war zone, so it will not be easy to do this. Also, despite the difficult economic situation, we were allocated funds from the federal budget for 2023 to hold various events in military Cossack societies. These include military field training, a sports contest for pre-conscription Cossack youth, events through Cossack education and the TRP.
- What are the Cossack volunteer detachments and who can get there?
- Not only Cossacks, but also ordinary citizens can get into such detachments. Based on the results of the last 6 months of 2022, we can say that volunteers who are not members of the Cossacks, being in volunteer Cossack detachments, apply to join Cossack societies. Therefore, the already mentioned thirteen volunteer detachments are 90-95% composed of Cossacks.
