Krasnodar, 30 November. Last week, Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev and Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko met to discuss the prospects for cooperation.
Since the beginning of this year, the turnover between the Kuban region and the Republic of Belarus has grown by 60%. Veniamin Kondratiev called particularly important the cooperation in the agricultural machine-building industry.
“The [Krasnodar] region as the guarantor of the nation’s food security is obliged to ensure high yields, which cannot be achieved without up-to-date machines. We have signed a cooperation agreement with the Minsk Tractor Works and resumed the assembly of two models of Belarusian tractors in Starominskaya. Of the planned 250 tractors, 220 have already been assembled. In the future, we plan to increase the output to 1,000 tractors. Also, we compensate for 15% of the price of every bought tractor that was assembled in the region. For this purpose, 46 million roubles were allocated this year,” Mr. Kondratiev said.
