Krasnodar, 12 October. Currently, about 130,000 tourists are spending their holidays in Sochi. Last week, the City Hall held a meeting devoted to the results of the high season and setting the tasks for the future. It was noted that last summer, over 2,600 hospitality facilities worked in the city, including 60 spas and health houses combining recreation and treatment, 174 big hotels and recreation camps, and five children’s health improving camps. The number of ‘all-included’ hotels expanded to 18. Now, in the off-peak season, the city continues to be a popular tourist destination: the average occupancy of its hotels equals to 77%. The City Hall noted that the number of room reservations rose by 5 to 8% compared with the same period of 2021.
Over the eight months of 2022, the city’s resort sector paid 1.183 billion roubles as taxes into the city budget, which equalled to 129.3% compared with the same period of 2021.
“At present, the Krasnodar resorts, in particular Sochi, are trendsetters in the spa, tourist and consumer sphere,” Mayor Aleksei Kopaigorodsky said.
Now the city authorities together with the Agency for Tourism Development in Sochi began to develop the Strategy for Development of Tourism in the city, based on longterm beach leases. The billing of the tourist flow will allow to place new tourist facilities more efficiently, open up new beach areas, and lay down new tourist routes.
