Krasnodar, 29 September. The money collected as the resort fee in Sochi will reportedly be spent to repair the city’s Maritime (Primorskaya) Embankment.
At present, the pavement surfacing is being replaced at the 1,500 sq m sector of the seafront adjoining the Blue Sea and the Circus beaches. During the works, the stone blacks will be replaced with granite slabs laid on the monolithic concrete structure, the City Hall’s press service informed. Besides, this sector of the embankment will be equipped with overland tactile signs for the convenience of people with limited mobility. The works are to be completed in December 2022.
“In 2022, about 211 million roubles were collected as the resort fee. In total, about 541 million roubles are to be collected this year,” Kirill Yarysh, Director of the Department for Resorts, Tourism and Consumer Sphere of Sochi City Administration, commented. The experiment on collection of resort fee has been held in Sochi since 2018. Since then, around 748 million roubles have been collected.
