Krasnodar, 23 September. Krasnaya Poliana has reportedly become a much sought-after resort for cashback tours.
Rosturizm, the Federal Tourism Agency, has reviewed the preliminary results of the autumn phase of the tourist cashback program. On August 25 – September 10, potential holidaymakers could buy a tour or book a hotel or spa for the period from October 1 till December 25 (or from September 1 till the end of navigation, in case of a boat cruise).
“During the sales fortnight, more than 600,000 persons made use of the program, which was a record for such a short term,” Zarina Doguzova, Rosturizm Head, related. “The total cost of the purchased tours was 14.3 billion roubles, and the cashback exceeded 2.7 billion roubles. Geographically and by format, boat cruises were very popular for trips in September, and for those in the autumn months people mainly chose spas, good family hotels with warm swimming pools and trips to ‘tourist-pleasant’ cities just to have a walk there. Beside the autumn trips, people were actively booking alpine skiing resorts – and Krasnaya Poliana and Sheregesh topped the list.”
