Krasnodar, 19 August. There are 26 closed hotels and spa facilities in Gelendzhik now, which if reconstructed could let the city receive additionally about 70,000 holidaymakers a year.
Last week, Acting Minister of Resorts, Tourism and Olympic Heritage of Krasnodar krai Mikhail Zaritsky chaired over a conference with the city authorities and federal officials, devoted to the restoration of such facilities, safety of holidaymakers, commercial activity and work of amusement facilities in the beaches.
Mr. Zaritsky noted that since the beginning of this year, Gelendzhik has received over 1.5 million tourists. In August, the occupancy level of the city’s hotels reached 82.5%.
“Gelendzhik is a flagship resort of the Kuban region. Its beaches are becoming more and more comfortable and attractive for our guests. In the last few years, we see the tourist flow to grow significantly,” he said.
During his visit to the city, Mikhail Zaritsky also inspected the work of the beaches, spas, and tourist routes.
