Q.: How has the club changed after your comeback in the managerial position?
A.: There are six types of preparation in handball – technical, tactical, playing, physical, theoretical, and psychological. The chief coach has to have knowledge in all these aspects, but it would be hard for him to embrace them all. In the near future, we would like to shape up a team of focused specialists and to build up the process in a more ‘subject-wise’ way. We will discuss this issue with the Institute of Physical Culture to look for the specialists there. As for the changes, I have returned the shot-stopper coach and invited a fitness trainer. Besides, we are trying to popularize handball, to drive it to high positions in the informational environment. Starting from the new season, we have new information partners, and we are getting tuned to cooperate with many Kuban companies. For instance, we drink water produced in the Kuban region, we get our uniform made up at a factory in Slaviansk-on-Kuban.
Q.: How much popular is male handball in the Krasnodar region?
A.: We remain Russia’s number one region by the number of handball players. According to the Ministry of Sports, there are a bit more than five thousand handballers in the region, women included
