Krasnodar, 3 August. Sochi has reportedly welcomed this year’s four-millionth tourist. The honorary visitor came from Moscow with his family. The guests were greeted at the Sochi Railway Station with flowers and presents by the Mayor’s Office executives and employees of the hotel where they were to stay.
“The resort season in Sochi is in full swing, and it has gained a very active speed. A month ago, on June 28, we welcomed our three-millionth tourist this year,” Vice Mayor Inna Petukhova said. “And now the city has greeted its four-millionth holidaymaker. The high international service quality standards accepted by our hotels, with a broad spectrum of rooms of all categories and a well-developed tourist infrastructure, the excellent preparation of the sea beaches, and variegated cultural events that are performed in Sochi let us ensure quite a high tourist load. Last year, the resort [city] received over five million tourists during the high season. I believe that this year this figure will be surpassed.”
