Krasnodar, 21 July. Kuban berry-growers will receive governmental support.
According to the initiative presented at the recent session of the regional Legislative Assembly, the contents of the state support of local farmers and individual entrepreneurs applying self-employment tax will be expanded to include construction of greenhouses for berries. According to the project, such farmers will be partly reimbursed for their expenditures. The regional deputies believe that this legislative initiative will stimulate the construction of 14.3 hectares of greenhouses this year, which will help increase the production volumes by 114 tons. “Growing berries in protected ground is an important direction for our agricultural complex,” the Legislative Assembly Chairperson Yuri Burlachko said. “Both the population and the stream of holidaymakers are growing in the [Krasnodar] region, so the demand for fresh berries is growing faster than the offer.”
To grow berries in greenhouses is really hard work that needs large financial support, agronomic knowledge and physical labour.
