Krasnodar, 21 July. Last week, the federal Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology Aleksandr Kozlov discussed the construction project of a cableway to Mount Big Akhun in Sochi. The works will be carried out in the framework of the national project “Ecology” with attraction of investors’ money. The design and survey works will begin this year.
“We together with the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology’s team are now working in Sochi,” Aleksandr Kozlov said. “Tourists coming here from all corners of the country are looking forward to new opportunities and qualitative transformation of the service sphere.”
The road leading to the prospective site of the cableway’s lower station is run and supervised by the Sochi National Park. A land easement will be enacted to reconstruct the road and proceed to construction works. To cover the facility’s need in electric power, about nine kilometres of power network, new water supply and sewage networks will have to be laid. Besides, the area adjacent to the watchtower on top of Mount Big Akhun will be landscaped. A series of displaceable constructions done in a single style will appear along the northern and the southern slopes of the mountain.
